About Us
Introduction
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Quercus Consulting is a certified minority and woman-owned business with the City of Chicago (MWBE), and the State of Illinois (MWBE). We specialize as a strategic advisory firm with a focal point in environmental policy. Issues of sustainability and climate change carry weighty challenges but also offer tremendous opportunities. Through the lens of economic impact, we evaluate the effectiveness of policy and program ideas to influence future decision making. Since 1997 Quercus Consulting has been combining your sustainability vision with our expertise; our experience is your greatest ally.
Our Philosophy Ranging from cost savings to education and most things in between, we help develop policies and manage projects that identify environmental strengths and liabilities. We dive into the conditions, assess the data, evaluate the options, and communicate the findings. Having done this work for a variety of clients including government agencies, corporations, education institutions, and faith-based organizations, we understand adaptability and how to tailor to unique situations. We provide the know-how, passion, and experience to help form strategies that make sense for you, your stakeholders, and your communities. You invest time and money into your operations, let us invest into you.

Our Mission, Vision, & Core Principles
Mission
Our mission is to champion climate equity, understanding everyone has a stake in a sustainable future. We're committed to developing and implementing collaborative solutions, strategies and plans that address carbon reduction and environmental justice.
Vision
In a world where environmental challenges disproportionately impact marginalized communities, our vision is for a future where every individual, regardless of their background, has equal access to clean air, water, and green spaces. Our commitment extends beyond carbon footprints; it encompasses social justice, equity, and resilience.
Core Principles
EQUITY & INCLUSIVITYBecause environmental justice is a fundamental human right, we prioritize communities that have historically borne the brunt of pollution, climate change, and resource depletion. We work collaboratively and inclusively to address systemic inequalities and uplift those most affected.
RESILIENCE & ADAPTATIONOur deliverables extend beyond mitigation. We actively build resilience by supporting local adaptation efforts, promoting sustainable livelihoods, and safeguarding ecosystems.
COLLABORATION & ADVOCACYWe collaborate with businesses, governments, nonprofits, and academia to drive systemic change. Together, we forge pathways toward a regenerative economy and a healthier Earth. We recognize that climate change exacerbates existing vulnerabilities, and we advocate to empower communities to withstand its impacts.
